Popsicle Stick Gingerbread Man – Ornaments for Kids to Make
These Popsicle Stick Gingerbread Man Ornaments are quick and easy for kids to make as a last-minute Christmas craft. They’ll look adorable hanging on your Christmas tree this year.
Hee hee! We’ve made another adorable gingerbread man ornament to add to our collection of easy gingerbread crafts.
My older kids made these craft stick gingerbread men, but it’s definitely a Christmas craft that preschoolers can make too. Gluing all the little pieces on their gingerbread men will help little ones with their fine-motor skills.

Wouldn’t this be a fun craft for the activity table at a kids’ Christmas party? It’s also a great one for kids to do at home when they want to get creative, but you don’t have a lot of time or want a lot of mess.
Supplies:
- popsicle sticks
- paint brush and paint (brown, white, black)
- glue
- buttons
- black beans (or black paint) for eyes
- yarn
- pipe cleaner and hot glue gun
How to make your popsicle stick gingerbread ornaments:
We started by painting our craft sticks of course.
When the paint dries, we used a fine paint brush to make white squiggles at the top and bottom of our popsicle sticks.
Then we glued on all of our gingerbread’s bits and pieces.
We used small black beans for the eyes, and we dotted each bean with a bit of white paint. If you don’t have black beans, you can always just dot some black paint on for eyes.
Some of the kids used red yarn for their gingerbread man’s mouth. Some just painted the mouth on with black paint. For some of our ornaments, we skipped the mouth altogether, and glued a yarn bow in its place.
Then we glued some buttons down the front of the popsicle stick,
Voila! Cutest, quickest gingerbreads ever. 🙂
To finish, we used our glue gun to attach a half of a pipe cleaner to the back of each popsicle stick.
