White Crayon Art for Toddlers
Here’s an easy art project for toddlers and preschoolers. Creating this white crayon art is a simple as offering your child a piece of black paper and a white crayon. Add a small selection of paint colours, and you’ll end up with some beautiful creations worthy of matting and framing.
We’ve been focusing on easy toddler art projects this month. Last week the hooligans each made a simple drawing project that required only a white crayon and a piece of black paper.
I do love an easy crayon art project. We’ve made melted crayon art many times, and we often do crayon resist projects, but those activities can be a little advanced for toddlers. This white crayon art project is just perfect for one and two year olds.
I gave everyone a small piece of black card stock that I’d cut into rectangles and some squares and they drew or wrote whatever they wanted on their paper.
A couple of the hooligans asked for paint when they finished their drawing, so I set out the tempera paints. I think the splash of colour against the black and white art is quite striking.
Because we’re on a mission to get some hooligan-made art up on our walls, I double matted each drawing, by first gluing it to a piece of white card-stock, and then to a piece of coloured card-stock.
I think they look like a million bucks! More art for our playroom walls!
