We’ve made so many sets of cool cardboard ornaments over the years, and we’ve just added another one to our collection: Cardboard Vintage Christmas Ornaments.

I’ve always loved the look of vintage Christmas tree ornaments. You know – those classic silver glass ones that are decorated in shimmery, metallic colours.

I thought it would be fun to try and replicate those ornaments at craft time here in my daycare, and of course, the material that came to mind to use for the ornaments was cardboard.

Now obviously, cardboard is one-dimensional and doesn’t look or feel like glass, but with a little paint, varnish and some “bling”, I think we did a pretty good job of creating some gorgeous old-fashioned-looking ornaments.

These ornaments were a lot of fun to make because you can get really creative with colours, details and sparkle. It’s definitely a fun way for kids of any age to make homemade ornaments.

Hang them on your Christmas tree, give them in sets for Christmas, or use them as gift-toppers.
