Creative Ornaments to Make with Clear Plastic or Glass Ornaments

I’ve rounded up all of the Clear Ornament Crafts  we’ve made with clear plastic ornaments and clear glass ornaments here in my daycare over the years. From snowmen, and cool art techniques to fun, skill-building activities, we have lots of creative ways for your kids to fill or decorate a clear ornament for your Christmas tree.

I love using inexpensive clear glass or plastic balls to make Christmas ornaments with my daycare kids every year. You can turn a clear ornament into just about anything depending on what you put in or on your ornament.

The possibilities are endless because you can fill these ornaments in so many different ways.

There are also some really easy (but totally cool) art techniques you can use on or in a clear ornament to give it unique and creative look.

Little kids love filling these ornaments because they love dropping things into things. This activity in itself is terrific for strengthening fine motor skills.

And one of our ornaments, once filled, becomes a fun, interactive game that they can play year after year.

Homemade Glitter Ornaments

Make your own gorgeous glitter ornaments with a clear ornament, glitter and hairspray! Who knew hairspray would be the key ingredient to getting glitter to stick to the inside of the ornament. Check out the how-to here.

Pour Painted Ornaments

This is my very favourite way to decorate clear glass or plastic ornaments. This pour-painting technique is so fun and easy to do, and it produces truly beautiful results. Package these ornaments up in sets of co-ordinating colours to give as gifts for Christmas. See how to make our Pour-Painted Ornaments here.
