Halloween Sensory Bin – Happy Hooligans

Put together a spooky Halloween Sensory Bin for hours of exploratory play!

My toddlers and preschoolers have been exploring all kinds of ghostly goodies in this Halloween Sensory Bin this week.

This fun and easy sensory bin was very easy to put together, using items that I had tucked away from last year’s Halloween bin, as well as a few new odds and ends from the dollar store.

What to put in a Halloween Sensory Bin

Black and orange lentils make a great base for a Halloween sensory bin. You could also dye some rice orange and black for your base.

Add dollar store items and small instruments and tools:

  • plastic fingers
  • halloween erasers
  • madis gras beadsads
  • plastic jewels and gems
  • Halloween rings
  • battery operated  candles
  • scoops, spoons, jars and mini muffin tin

Scooping, pouring, tweezing, sifting, transferring, matching, sorting, counting, just to name a few.

The sight, feel and sound of the materials as your child plays in a sensory bin stimulate the senses, and add a delightful element of fun.
