The Best Resources For Helping Teach About The 250th Anniversary Of The American Revolution

Next year is the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
I’ll be adding more resources to this list over the next few months, but here’s a start (because of the Trump administration’s overt efforts to manipulate the anniversary for their political agenda, I would recommend that educators be particularly vigilant when viewing materials from the federal government or its political allies. I’m not including them on this list):
PBS has lots of teaching materials related to the Ken Burns documentary (here are more related resources).
There’s also PBS LearningMedia’s THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Youth Media Challenge.
250th Anniversary of the American Revolution New York State Resource Guide is from the New York Department of Ed.
Elementary Curriculum: American Revolution is from The Lehrman Institute.
Teaching the American Revolution in today’s society: Lessons for the 250th anniversary is from Arizona PBS.
TCI has some free related mini-lessons.
The Museum of The American Revolution has some resources.
The National Parks Service has some decent materials but, again, review them thoroughly.
Teaching the American Revolution is from The Zinn Education Project.
