Wax Resist Valentines Cards – Happy Hooligans

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the toddlers and preschoolers in my home daycare have been busy making Valentines’ cards for their parents.

Recently, we made these awesome wax resist cards!  We love wax-resist art.  Some folks call it crayon-resist or paint-resist, but whatever you call it, it’s just plain fascinating!

How it’s done:

You simply write a message on white paper with a white crayon and then paint over the message with watercolours.

Kids love watching their art work magically appear before their eyes as they paint!

This process is wonderful for creating greeting cards or unique art to hang in your child’s room!
